Is it worth visiting on a cloudy day?
LookOut, now called the Main Observation Level, is 346 m above ground; SkyPod, now The Top, is 447 m. Adding the site’s roughly 76 m ground elevation gives 422 m and 523 m above sea level. If a cloud base falls between those heights, the lower windows may stay beneath it while the upper viewpoint reaches cloud. An airport ceiling cannot tell us where the layer ends, so the higher ticket is not a confirmed route to sunshine.
When is the best time to go up?
Use the forecast window for the Toronto city view you want, and check the operator’s access notices for the actual levels. Conditions around the lake can differ from the nearby airport report. A clear stretch may reward a daytime panorama; sunset and the lit skyline offer a different visit, without guaranteeing long-distance visibility.

- Is SkyPod worth the extra cost?
- The extra 101 m changes the perspective, but it does not automatically improve visibility. Compare the two levels before adding The Top to your ticket. A close score leaves the upgrade as an experience preference; neither quieter windows nor a view above cloud is guaranteed.
- Can you see Niagara Falls from the CN Tower?
- The operator advertises distant views toward Niagara Falls in very clear weather. Our tower forecast does not confirm that sighting: haze and cloud along the route can obscure distant detail even when Toronto looks clear. Do not treat the horizon score as a verified view of the Falls.
